Google Sites provides a variety of customization of selected ''base themes'', but important elements, such as width, line-height, and header sizes, are not customizable and come with the base theme.  This is a map of those important style elements amongst the available base themes.  This work is in service of [[Sagamore PTA Google Sites notes]], to choose the best Google Sites ''base theme'', November 2013.

# Edit the Home page with some markup to test (just run through the GUI Format options)
# Try different base themes and take note in the table below

Notes:

* The GUI font size selection in points (pt) actually sets html of '<nowiki><font size="1-6"></nowiki>'
* The theme font size selection specifies new size in pixels (13px for 10pt, 16px for 12pt)
* Custom "Entire page" "text" stomps on header sizes too (try "Content area" (and "Gadget area") instead)
